How we handle personal information, under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. Who we are

Alma Cannabis Pty Ltd (ABN 22 660 828 240) (“Alma”, “we”, “us”) is an Australian company supplying medicinal cannabis products to pharmacies and health professionals. This policy covers personal information we collect through this website and in the course of our business.

2. What we collect

  • Health professional details — name, profession, AHPRA registration number, practice or pharmacy, work contact details. Collected to verify eligibility under section 42AA of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 (Cth).
  • Pharmacy account details — entity and trading name, ABN, addresses, responsible pharmacist, contact details, and trading and payment records.
  • Enquiry details — whatever you choose to send us.
  • Quality and adverse event reports — batch numbers, a description of the issue, and reporter contact details. We ask reporters not to include patient‑identifying information; where health information is nonetheless provided, we treat it as sensitive information and handle it accordingly.
  • Technical information — standard server logs and, where you consent, analytics data.

3. Why we collect it

To verify that a person is a health professional entitled to receive product information; to open, administer and service trading accounts; to supply products and meet our record‑keeping and pharmacovigilance obligations; to respond to enquiries; and, where you have given separate consent, to send you updates.

4. Verification against the AHPRA register

Where you provide a registration number, we check it against the AHPRA public register and retain a record of that check, including the date and the outcome. We do this to comply with the restrictions on advertising unapproved therapeutic goods. If your registration lapses or is restricted, we may withdraw access.

5. Who we disclose it to

Our hosting, email, analytics, logistics and payment providers; our professional advisers; and regulators including the TGA, the Office of Drug Control and state and territory health departments where required or authorised by law. We do not sell personal information.

6. Marketing and consent

We only send marketing emails where you have opted in. Consent to marketing is always separate from opening an account or obtaining access — declining does not affect either. Every marketing email identifies us and contains a working unsubscribe link, in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

7. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We retain records for as long as required by law, including therapeutic goods and taxation record‑keeping obligations, and then destroy or de‑identify them.

8. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask for access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you, or complain about how we have handled it, by emailing privacy@cannabisalma.com. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always published at this address.
